Bardmoor Tennis Academy is proud to have some of the most qualified coaching professionals in the United States.  They know the tennis circuit inside and out and can advise on scheduling tournaments for maximum exposure, as well as provide collegiate and professional career advice.

Maria has been coaching in the Tampa Bay area for 25 years.  Maria played Florida Junior Tennis and went on to play top level collegiate tennis.  She returned to Florida after her marriage to Barry Cercone and started her teaching career.  Maria has coached many of Florida's top junior players. Her players have won many USTA National balls and played top level collegiate tennis, with many of them becoming All-Americans. Some of her past students have stayed with tennis and have coached or are now coaching at the  Division 1 collegiate level. 

Maria has been married for 26 years and has three children.  Her oldest daughter, Nicole, 24, played at Florida State University and was a top Florida junior.  Son Nicholas is 21, and Alex is 14.  Maria comes from a family of tennis players.  Both her parents played and her late brother, George Paris, coached many professionals such as Jay Berger and many top ITF juniors.

Gina Misenhelder USPTA

Gina played Florida Junior Tennis while attending Canterbury High School in St. Petersburg.  She went on to play in college at Division 1 universities, graduating from the University of South Florida with a degree in Communications.   Gina is a USPTA Certified Professional Tennis Instructor.  Gina is in her third year coaching at Bardmoor, where she also coached Northside Christian’s varsity tennis team to its first state finals appearance in the school’s history in 2006.  Gina was born and raised in St. Petersburg and was coached by Maria Cercone as a junior.  She currently resides in Tampa.

Coaching
Ed joins Bardmoor Tennis Academy from Treasure Bay Golf & Tennis club, where he was instrumental in teaching juniors at the beginner levels.  Ed shares responsibility for the junior program at Bardmoor and has served as assistant coach for Admiral Farragut's tennis program.
